Westminster schools raise $100 million for school endowment
The Westminster Schools surpassed its goal of raising $100 million for its Teaching for Tomorrow campaign. As of January 31, families, alumni and friends committed $101,449,111.
The campaign was launched in Sept. 2006 from a strategic plan to raise capital for an endowment fund, said Nancy Hubbard, executive director of development. The school will use the interest to fund several areas:
$31 million to supplement staff salaries; $20 million for a new junior high building; $18 million for annual operating funds; $8 million for financial aid; $2 million for an exchange program with Mt. Kenya Academy in Africa; $10 million toward community service initiatives.
The Westminster Schools, 1424 West Paces Ferry Road, NW in Atlanta, is a co-educational Christian school for grades pre-K through 12.
