Weekend road construction suspended

Due to holiday shopping-related traffic backups in the retail areas of Ga. Hwy. 54 West in Peachtree City, road construction is being limited to weekdays only until January.

The city says traffic in the vicinity of The Avenue, Walmart and elsewhere in the corridor has been especially heavy, so it consulted with the Georgia Department of Transportation to modify the lane closures near Line Creek Drive. Residents can still expect traffic delays 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday as construction continues on the “Green-T” turn lanes.
