Lengthy cold and rainy weather has put a damper on construction of the new spillway on Lake Peachtree in Peachtree City. Project Manager Dan Davis told the City Council on March 15 that the project is about a month behind schedule. However, the contractor is increasing the crews’ evening and weekend schedules to try to catch up. Davis said that if no further major delays occur, the lake level will be raised another two feet in late April, with “substantial completion” slated for mid-June, after which the water level will be brought back up to full pool.
