For five hours Tuesday, the Georgia State University campus in downtown Atlanta lost all Internet and telephone access.
Water damage in the GSU data center left more than 50 buildings and around 30,000 students with no communications starting at 12:15 p.m.
"There was a pressure washer working in the building, and there was a leak into the data center," said Andrea Jones assistant vice president of communications at GSU.
All communications were back online by about 5 p.m. No other damage was reported.
Jones said technicians will work through the night to ensure data was not lost because of the outage.
