Dashcam video obtained by Channel 2 Action News shows a man with a knife moments before a Rabun County officer shoots and kills him.

The officer tried to stop a speeding car on Warwoman Road in Clayton about 3 a.m. Thursday, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution previously reported.

The car was going 68 mph in a 45-mph zone, the GBI said. A chase followed, and the Honda crashed on a private drive.

After the car crashed, the driver got out and swung a knife at the officer, according to the GBI. At that time, the officer fired.

The incident was the eighth officer-involved shooting in 2018, according to the GBI.
