Summer has brought upgrades to a number of DeKalb County parks.

Officials have a busy schedule of ribbon-cutting and dedication ceremonies planned in the coming days around the county.

A playground groundbreaking at Hairston Park and a tennis court dedication at Henderson Park have already passed. But the public is invited for the following:

  • Gresham Recreation Center playground dedication, July 14, at 10 a.m., 3113 Gresham Road, Atlanta
  • Redan Park tennis court dedication, July 19, at 10 a.m., 1745 Phillips Road, Lithonia
  • Longdale Park ribbon cutting, July 21, at 10 a.m., 1830 Longdale Drive, Atlanta
  • Midway Park playground ribbon cutting, July 26, at 10 a.m., 3181 Midway Road, Decatur
  • Exchange Park football field dedication, July 28, at 10 a.m., 2771 Columbia Drive, Decatur
  • Wade Walker Park playground dedication, July 29, at 10 a.m., 5585 Rockbridge Road, Stone Mountain

The complex is set to be demolished next month anyways because DeKalb County Schools bought the complex.
