We're learning more about two teenagers shot to death in Gwinnett County.

The community came together Tuesday night for a prayer vigil for the two teenagers.

Surveyors found their bodies Monday between two homes.

While the search is on for the killer or killers, those who knew them are in deep mourning.

The heartbroken grandfather of 18-year-old Jaquille Thomas told Channel 2's Matt Johns his life hasn't been the same without his grandson.

"That was my baby," said grandfather Gean Harden. "I'm just hurt, I'm tore to pieces, man. It's like my heart…that was my heart, man."

Friends and family held candles in the subdivision where Thomas and his 19-year-old girlfriend, Angelique Bowman, were found dead.

"They were close. They were like two peas in a pod. She was a sweet girl, really sweet," Harden said.

Thomas was found in between two houses in a Norcross neighborhood on Wandering Way Monday morning.

Bowman's body was discovered inside an SUV two hours later, about 200 yards away.

Thomas' family said the young couple was supposed to start school at Gwinnett College.

"Him and the girl were both supposed to start today, but this happened, you know?" Harden said.

Police said both teens lived in Stone Mountain, and they're investigating what they were doing in the subdivision where they were murdered.

Thomas' best friend told Johnson he put together the candlelight vigil, which drew dozens of people in mourning.

"I love the support and I love to see people come out and support my brother," friend Tarik Thompson said.

Now friends and family are left wondering who would take two young lives.

So far Gwinnett County police have not announced any motives or any arrests in the case.
