The clouds were seen in some parts of Georgia on Monday. Mar. 30. Chief Meteorologist Glenn Burns says the clouds, called undulatus asperatus, form because of agitation/waves in the atmosphere. They were discovered two years ago and are about to get their own cloud classification. This type of cloud is most commonly seen in the Midwest ahead of big thunderstorms.
