Brookhaven police said ice on the road and a mechanical failure with a vehicle caused it to plunge into Nancy Creek on Friday morning.

The vehicle overturned and fell into the creek off Ashford-Dunwoody Road and Harts Mill Road. Officers and DeKalb County firefighters responded and remained on the scene for several hours as the vehicle was fished from the water.

There were no injuries reported.

Further information wasn’t immediately released.

The accident came as officials around metro Atlanta worried about iced-over roads remaining from Tuesday night's snow. The county warned residents against using a number of roads that had been expected to refreeze Thursday night.
