Decatur police are investigating the reported attempted robbery of an 11-year-old boy who was walking away from a sledding trip Wednesday in Oakhurst.

The boy was walking near Gordon Avenue at Third Avenue at about 3:30 p.m. when he was stopped by three boys, believed to be 12 or 13, police said. He was slammed on the ground and dragged from the road to the sidewalk.

“Two of the suspects held him down and the third suspect patted his pants pockets and went through his coat pockets. The victim did not have anything of value to take,” police said in a news release Thursday. “The suspects released him and jogged from the area towards Northern Avenue.”
