It started out as a graphic design assignment at the University of West Georgia.

The assignment, though, will have benefits well beyond the Carrollton campus. Proceeds for the sale of the designs will be donated to help relief efforts in Japan following an earthquake and tsunami.

The final assignment in David Short's Graphic Design 2 studio class was to develop a social or political poster. Seven students in the class developed and refined their designs; then art professors selected the top three, which will be reproduced and offered for sale beginning May 12 at  the art department's offices in UWG's humanities building. The limited, signed editions will be $20 each with funds going to the American Red Cross.  For more information call (678) 839-6521.
