The University of Georgia has assembled a committee to conduct a national search to find a new dean for the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences, the institution's largest college which includes the humanities, fine arts, social sciences and physical and mathematical sciences.
The previous dean, Garnett Stokes, left UGA to become the provost at Florida State University. Hugh Ruppersburg, senior associate dean of Franklin College, has been serving as interim dean since August.
