A former University of Georgia business manager was ordered to repay the school more than $200,000 after she admitted embezzling from the university Thursday.

Authorities said Rebecca Hill, who worked for UGA’s Carl Vinson Institute of Government, stole the money by submitting bogus receipts for supply purchases she claimed were made with personal funds.

Prosecutors said she submitted nearly 500 fraudulent “petty cash disbursement receipts” between 2005 and 2009.

Hill pleaded guilty to racketeering and theft by taking in Clarke County Superior Court.

The woman, who is wheelchair-bound, received a 20-year sentence as a first offender, but due to her physical condition she will serve only a year of house arrest, prosecutors said. She was also ordered to pay $219,795.69 in restitution.
