Two people were shot early Friday in the parking lot of a southwest Atlanta town home complex.
The shooting happened around 4 a.m. at the Windsor Square Townhouses in the 3800 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive near Fulton Industrial Boulevard.
Atlanta police Capt. Adam Lee III told the AJC that three people were sitting in a black Jaguar when “they were suddenly approached by an individual from the passenger side of the car that yelled at the backseat passenger something to the effect of, ‘I told you not to come around here anymore,’ then produced a weapon and started to fire toward the vehicle.”
The Jaguar driver and the back-seat passenger were both struck by the gunfire.
“The driver accelerated his vehicle after being shot and crashed into a nearby building,” Lee said.
All three people in the Jaguar were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, two for treatment of gunshot wounds and the third for injuries sustained when the car hit the building.
The identities and conditions of the victims were not immediately available.
