Two men shot in southeast Atlanta
Two men are recovering from gunshot wounds after being shot during a robbery attempt in southeast Atlanta.
The incident happened about 2 a.m. on Akron Drive, according to Atlanta police dispatchers.
Channel 2 Action News reported that the men had been at a nightclub on Moreland Avenue and were dropping a friend off at his home on Akron Drive.
As the friend got out of the car, two gunmen ran up and tried to rob the victims, according to Channel 2.
The friend ran to his house, and the robbers fired shots at the car, hitting one victim in the leg and the other in the neck, Atlanta police Capt. Barry Shaw told Channel 2.
The victims drove a short distance before running off the road and crashing into a fire hydrant. They were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in stable condition.
