Two Georgia women win big in lottery

Two Georgia women are each celebrating their lottery luck.

Vickie Gasque, of Coffee County, won $3 million Saturday playing the instant game 100x The Money. She is the first top prize winner in the new game’s history.

Gasque, a mother of six and general manager of a manufacturing plant, told lottery officials she doesn’t know what she will do with the money, but she may retire.

Gasque bought her ticket at Baker Express in Douglas.

Tanisha Smith, of Columbus, won $1 million playing the instant game Maximum Green. She claimed her prize Monday at Georgia Lottery headquarters in Atlanta.

Smith bought her ticket at Coastal Food Mart, where she scratched the ticket.

“I was too excited,” she told lottery officials. “Other people who were in the store were happy for me.”

She told officials she anticipates giving portions of her winnings to her family and saving or investing the remainder.
