All but one of the three young siblings injured in a fatal July 4th collision on I-75 in Henry County have been released from the hospital, police said.

Meanwhile, investigators plan to present their findings to a grand jury sometime in the next four to six weeks, said Henry County Police Sgt. Joey Smith.

Driver Charnisea Goldware’s 14-year-old sister Victoria died in the two-car accident and another sister, 16-year-old Jershauna, was injured.

According to the incident report, Goldware, 19, was driving too fast for conditions and made an improper lane change, losing control and striking the guard rail just north of state Route 20. The Ford Expedition then spun back into the roadway, colliding with a Dodge Ram.

Five of the seven passengers in the Expedition were ejected, including Jershauna and Victoria Goldware.

Teriane Batiste, 30, and her three children — 4-year-old Mi Kalyn and 2-month-old twins Mi Leah and Mi Kai — were also injured. One of the twins remains hospitalized at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston. But Smith said the baby has shown improvement in recent days.

No one in the Ram was injured, nor was Charnisea Goldware, who was the only person in the Expedition wearing a seat belt, the incident report states.
