Tucker’s Main Street between Lawrenceville Highway and Railroad Avenue will be closed to through-traffic from Monday, March 5, through Thursday, March 8, for street repairs.

Road closure and detour signs will be placed in the area to advise motorists of traffic restrictions.

To the original 2016 cityhood map, Tucker has added residential properties (Westwood and Wanda Woods), churches (Pleasant Hill Baptist), hotels (Masters Inn) and commercial parcels from north, south, east and west.

All of these Tucker annexations happened because property owners came to us saying, “We’ve always thought of ourselves as Tucker, so let’s make it official,” said Mayor Frank Auman in the monthly city newsletter.

Over the next month, the city will officially welcome new neighbors on opposite sides of the city: the Briarcliff Village Shopping Center across the street from Northlake Mall, and several prominent businesses along E. Ponce de Leon, including Eagle Rock Studios and Graphic Packaging International.
