Interested in volunteering in the fight against breast cancer?
The Triple Pink Foundation will hold a volunteer meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Bryan Cave LLP, 1201 W. Peachtree St.
There are several opportunities to become involved in the foundation, which was formed by Atlanta attorney Karen Neely and her family after she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006. The foundation's goal is to increase awareness about triple-negative breast cancer, which disproportionately affects African-American women and younger women.
Next year, the organization will host its main fundraiser, "We Want A Cure", expand it's "Munchkins & Mammograms" program and continue the college workshop, "Rx For Life."
Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women, accounting for nearly one in four cancers diagnosed in U.S. women, according to the American Cancer Society.
