Traffic will shift Friday night on the Hammond Drive bridge as part of an larger construction project.

Crews from CW Matthews will shift traffic to the north side of the bridge at 9 p.m. Friday. Because of the time, it is not expected to cause any major traffic problems.

The West Concourse Drive access from Hammond also will be closed for an undetermined amount of time, to allow for a grade adjustment there.

New barricades and signs will be put up, to help drivers with the new traffic flow.

The work is part of the Hammond/Ga. 400 interchange project. The $18 million upgrade is scheduled to be completed in August.
