Thieves hit beauty supply store

Another metro Atlanta beauty supply store was targeted overnight by thieves going after high-dollar hair weaves.

Thieves struck the Beauty Depot in the 800 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive about 2:45 a.m. Thursday. It was the latest in a string of beauty supply burglaries targeting hair weaves.

Three thieves gained access to the store by ramming a stolen car through the front doors of the store.

Tire tracks were visible where the car smashed through the doors. The burglars fled in another car. Police removed the stolen vehicle that crashed through the doors and was left partially inside.

Store items were left in tatters across the floor.

Thieves ignored other items in the store, targeting the weaves on the wall.

Police are reviewing security video of the incident, which was the third such burglary at the store.

Officials told reporters that the thieves took about $2,000 in hair weaves.
