Moving crews had to remove a street sign to allow the 35 feet wide Isaac Adair House to move along the 1000 block of State Route 20 in Lawrenceville Tuesday, May 27, 2008. The 1827 house is the third oldest in the County. The County agreed to move and preserve the historic structure when it bought the land for road construction in 2006.

Utility crews remove and reconnect wires and traffic signals while Adair House makes its way onto Grayson Highway Tuesday. The 200, 000 pound house is 37 feet high, 35 feet wide and 45 feet long.

The Hughes family, Rachel, 21, Phyllis and Marvin lived in the 1827 Isaac Adair House for about 11 years. Here, they witness the historic move of the house at the corner of Sugarloaf Parkway and Grayson Highway in Lawrenceville. They now live in Watkinsville.
