"Dis Taurus I got sum bars."
That seemingly obscure text message has landed a Conyers man in jail on drug-related charges.
Taurus McKee Baker, 31, was arrested Aug. 15 after he allegedly texted an acquaintance and offered to sell him some pills, according to a police report obtained by the AJC.
Problem was, the acquaintance had been arrested recently, and Conyers police had taken possession of his cellphone.
So when the text message came across the phone, a Conyers officer recognized the term "bars" as a reference to the drug Alprazolam (Xanax).
Police responded to the text, and "during the course of the text messaging, Baker agreed to sell us 10 bars of Alprazolam for $40," the officer wrote.
Police set up a meeting with Baker and arrested him without incident, the report said.
A search found him in possession of 10 Alprazolam pills, police said.
He was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, criminal attempt to sell a controlled substance and use of communication facilities in commission of a felony.
Baker was taken to the Rockdale County jail.
