Teens hit near Kennesaw train crossing

Photos: Two teens were hit by a train near Kennesaw in Cobb County about 200 yards from the Stanley Road crossing off Stilesboro Road. The site is not far from Mt. Paran Christian School.

CSX train engineers arrive for work Friday morning. A freight train hit two teenagers near Kennesaw early Friday, March 12, 2010. The two young men were apparently lying near the tracks when they were hit around 1 a.m.

The accident happened about 200 yards from the Stanley Road crossing off Stilesboro Road, near Mount Paran Christian School.

A CSX train is stationary as another train passes at the Stanley Road crossing on Friday. The surviving teen is not believed to have life-threatening injuries.

Investigators were interviewing the surviving teen and the CSX train crew, trying to determine exactly what happened.
