A teenager wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of a man who was found dead in the middle of a Lawrenceville street has turned himself in, according to Gwinnett police.

Brandon Prasad, 17, surrendered Thursday morning. He faces one count of felony murder, one count of possession of a firearm during a crime, and a drug charge in the death of Jose De Manuel Alfaro, 18, of Lawrenceville.

Alfaro was found dead around 11:45 p.m. Monday in the 500 block of Simonton Ridge Trail near Lawrenceville. He had been shot twice in the chest.

Neither Alfaro nor Prasad lived in the neighborhood, police said.

Prasad’s drug charge involves possession with intent to distribute marijuana, police said.
