A man was clinging to life in a hospital Saturday night after someone walked up to him at a gas station, pointed a handgun at his face and pulled the trigger.

Atlanta police said Sunday that the suspect, a juvenile, is now in custody.

The victim, whose identity has not been released by police, was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he was in critical condition Saturday night.

Police say the entire incident was captured on video. It happened around 3:20 a.m. Saturday at a Citgo gas station in the 1300 block of Boulevard, said investigator Michael Graham of the Atlanta Police Department.

The shooter went into the store as the victim and another man were buying cigarettes, Graham told the AJC.

The detective said the victim moved just before the trigger was pulled, so the bullet hit him in the torso.

"They're not sure if it hit his spine, but it went through all of his internal organs," Graham said.

The gas station manager told police that the victim and his companion lived nearby and were regular shoppers there.

Police have no motive and are looking for help with the case from anyone who might have seen something.
