There was a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Cobb County School District’s newest elementary school Tuesday.
U.S. Rep. Karen Handel, R-Roswell, and Georgia Sen. Kay Kirkpatrick, R-Marietta, were there for the opening of Brumby Elementary School.
The school, previously on Powers Ferry Road, is now on Terrell Mill Road, around the corner from Sope Creek Elementary.
A $120 million mixed-use property is set to take over the old elementary school land.
Brumby and its fellow newly built neighbor, East Cobb Middle School, were set to open for the first day of classes the next morning.
