SWAT standoff a bust in Mableton

After surrounding a Mableton home for several hours Monday night, a Cobb County police S.W.A.T. team found no signs of the man accused of pulling a gun.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Joseph B. Owen, accused of pulling a gun on his neighbor around 4 p.m. He faces an aggravated assault charge.

Police believed Owen barricaded himself into a vacant house on the 200 block of Lee Road, near Veterans Memorial Highway, police spokesman officer Joseph Hernandez said.

But when police finally entered the home around 11 p.m., Owen was nowhere to be found.

Hernandez said it is unclear who owns the vacant home.
