Police arrested a suspected DeKalb County bank robber Friday after a customer followed him to a nearby Waffle House.

Detectives are now interviewing the suspect, who they believe may be connected to several other commercial robberies in the area, DeKalb Police Officer Jason Gagnon told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Police are withholding the suspect’s identity until they complete the interviews.

A man passed a note to a teller at the BB&T at North Decatur and Clairmont Roads around 9 a.m. He fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, Gagnon said.

A customer in the bank saw the robbery and climbed into his car. He called police and followed the suspected robber to the Waffle House on Lawrenceville Highway and DeKalb Industrial Way.

Police, U.S. Marshals and FBI agents arrived at the restaurant minutes later and arrested the suspected robber, Gagnon said.

No injuries were reported and the cash was returned to the bank.
