Athens-Clarke County Police have identified a suspect in a Friday robbery of a Dollar General store on Atlanta Highway.
Police said Saturday that the suspect, Randy Davis, approached the cashier just before 7 p.m. Friday with a note demanding “big bills” and indicated he had a gun.
After reaching behind him as if to produce a gun, police said, Davis reached across the counter and grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash from the cash register. A manager said Davis then fled the store with cash in his hand and got into a white vehicle, which police identified as a four-door Chevrolet Lumina with a license tag PD92SH.
Police said no one was injured in the incident and that no weapon was ever displayed.
Police described Davis as a black male, about 6 feet tall, wearing a black stocking cap, black sweatshirt, khaki pants and black shoes.
Authorities consider him armed and dangerous. Anyone with information on the case should call the Athens-Clarke County Police Department at (706) 546-5900.
