A 78-year-old man is expected to turn himself in on charges related to a deadly early January hit-and-run.

Cesario Castrejon will be charged with vehicular homicide, hit and run, not exercising due care for pedestrians in the roadway and a headlight violation in relation to the death of Ramon Carrion, 46, on Jan. 7.

According to Gwinnett County police, Carrion was hit in a shopping center parking lot and dragged for a quarter of a mile before the driver sped off, leaving him for dead. Carrion died hours later.

The police found the car involved in the incident last week, but were still looking for the driver. As of 3:30 p.m. Thursday, police were arranging with Castrejon's lawyer for Castrejon to turn himself in.
