Police have arrested one suspect and are seeking two others in connection with the robberies of two Gwinnett County jewelry stores in which a customer was hurt and about $1 million in valuables were taken.
Terrence Talley, 28, is being held without bond on two counts of armed robbery, according to the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s jail database.
Gwinnett County police said they are seeking Simone Simon, 33, and Nicholas Moss, 31.
Police gave these details of the robberies:
On Feb. 9, two men entered Barron’s Fine Jewelry in Snellville while a third served as lookout. They held up the store at gunpoint, taking about $20,000 on jewelry, and fled in a white Jeep Liberty.
The vehicle later was recovered by Snellville police and was found to have been stolen out of Atlanta.
On March 22, four men armed with handguns and hammers robbed Tara Fine Jewelry in Buford. They ordered everyone in the store to get on the ground, and one suspect struck a customer on the head with a hammer. The victim recovered from his injury.
The bandits made off with nearly $1 million in jewelry and watches. They fled in a black Ford Excursion that later was recovered and also was found to have been stolen out of Atlanta.
Most of the stolen jewelry remains unaccounted for, police said.
Buddy Anderson, co-owner of Tara Jewelers, told Channel 2 Action News that he's relieved police have named suspects in the robbery.
"It's a tough thing when you go through that because you think, oh could it happen again?" he said.
Anyone with information about Simon and Moss is asked to call police at 770-513-5300.
The case is being investigated by the Gwinnett police robbery unit, Gwinnett Sherriff’s Office, Snellville Police Department and federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, with the assistance of the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office and U.S. Marshals Service.
