A suspect has been arrested in connection with the recent death of a man whose body was found buried behind a condominium complex near Decatur.

The medical examiner is still trying to identify the corpse.

That could take some time given the state of decomposition, Mekka Parish, a spokeswoman for the DeKalb County police, said Wednesday.

Police found the body shortly before 5:30 p.m. in a wooded area in the 3700 block of North Decatur Road.

Police were "led" to the suspect, a 29-year-old man, late Tuesday, Parish said. She said the police department is withholding his identity while they investigate.

The death is being investigated as a homicide, but the man who was arrested has not yet been charged with a crime, Parish said.

She added, though, that a murder charge was likely.
