Sugarloaf Parkway re-opened around 6 p.m. Wednesday following a gas leak near Kendall Park Drive in Lawrenceville.

A utility crew apparently hit a 4-inch gas main while digging, said Capt. Tommy Rutledge with the Gwinnett County fire department.

An Atlanta Gas Light crew was on the scene for several hours attempting to shut off the leak, Rutledge said. Gas was apparently leaking from two areas.

No evacuations or injuries were reported, Rutledge said. Police diverted traffic from the area for about four hours.
