Work on the concrete walls is nearing completion at Sugar Hill’s Veterans Memorial Plaza. The city anticipates a tentative completion date for the week of Oct. 30, just in time to open for Veterans Day on Nov. 11. This final stretch is dependent on scheduling key sub-contract work and weather conditions.
The site will remain excavated over the next three weeks while Surfaces Group begins the process of connecting the plumbing to the tank and pump systems. The change in the Surfaces Group management team has helped stem delays initially encountered and a recovery schedule is keeping them on track to finish in October.
Many Sugar Hill residents are reaching out to the city to help celebrate veterans and honor their service.
