The Sugar Hill Historic Preservation Society invites the public to the unveiling of the city’s latest historical marker recognizing the city’s former city hall at 10 a.m. Oct. 5 at 4988 W. Broad St. NE.

The Sugar Hill Downtown Development Authority repurposed the old two-story city hall in 2017 into The Suite Spot, a business incubator for small businesses. Rather than demolish the historic building, originally built in 1939, the city chose to support the rapidly growing business community, over 80 percent of which are home-based. City leaders moved into the new, larger city hall at 5039 West Broad St. in 2013.
