Stone Mountain to host 5K for schools

Stone Mountain is teaming up with three local schools to host its first joint 5K later this fall.

The Granite Grasshopper 5K and Fun Run will be held Oct. 8 in historic Stone Mountain Village and into Stone Mountain Park. Proceeds benefit Stone Mountain Elementary, Champion Theme Middle and Stone Mountain High schools.

Registration, which $20 before Sept. 15 and $25 after, is available online at www.active.com.
