Maude McDaniel should expect a heckuva anniversary gift.

Her husband, Lee McDaniel, of Stone Mountain, won $5 million Friday in the Georgia Lottery’s World Class Millions grand prize event. The McDaniels will celebrate 46 years of marriage Monday.

“Our anniversary weekend is off to a great start,” said McDaniel, who works at a Lithonia golf course.

One of the golfers at the Mystery Valley course guaranteed McDaniel, 67, he would win the drawing.

McDaniel was one of 72 contestants randomly selected in weekly second-chance drawing. Each of the winners received $5,000 and a chance at the $5 million grand prize awarded McDaniel.
