State will fund signage around SunTrust Park

The Georgia Department of Transportation will fund traffic cameras and signage in the SunTrust Park and Cumberland areas.

Cobb Department of Transportation Director Jim Wilgus told the Cobb County Board of Commissioners recently that the state will pay nearly $1.6 million for the Cumberland areawide interstate signs.

Overhead directional guide signs will be installed along Interstate 285 and Interstate 75 to direct drivers to the SunTrust Park area.

Massana Construction Inc. was awarded the contract by the commissioners on Tuesday.

Georgia DOT also will pay nearly $503,000 for traffic cameras and dynamic message signs in the Cumberland area.

Adaptive Micro Systems was awarded the contract as the low bidder by the commissioners, also on Tuesday.
