Spelman student shot and killed at Clark

CAU President, Carlton E. Brown (left) and Spelman President, Dr. Beverly Daniel Tatum (right) address the issue of the Spelman student who was shot and killed overnight. The student was shot and killed early Thursday on the campus of nearby Clark-Atlanta University.

APD Lt. Keith Meadows addresses the noontime press conference. An 18-year-old student from Clark-Atlanta was also wounded when he was struck in the wrist by a stray bullet, Meadows said. That student's name has not been released.

Jasmine Lynn, who was from Kansas City, Mo., was hit by a stray bullet after gunfire broke out during a fight on the Clark-Atlanta campus in the 200 block of James P. Brawley Drive.

Jasmine Lynn was a 19-year-old sophomore majoring in psychology and minoring in business, according to her MySpace page. Students cross James P. Brawley Drive on Thursday morning.
