Gwinnett Commissioners recently voted to accept Gatewood Drive in unincorporated Lawrenceville into the Gwinnett County Speed Hump Program. Residents of the street off State Route 124/Braselton Highway voted overwhelmingly in favor of joining the program with 95 percent of homeowners in favor. Only 70 percent of homeowners in favor is required.

Gatewood Drive is a no-outlet street leading to new construction at Gatewood Arbor subdivision. Increased traffic along Gatewood Drive has led to homeowners’ concerns about excessive speeds along the street.

Total cost for 3 speed humps and 2 signs is $7,139 and will be funded using the 2009 SPLOST program.
