A couple was shot to death in their home in Pickens County, and their son-in-law has been arrested for murder, the Pickens County Sheriff's Office said.
About 12:25 a.m. Wednesday, deputies responded to a home invasion on Long Swamp Church Road in eastern Pickens County. They found Cynthia Campbell, 53, dead, and her husband Raymond Campbell, 55, wounded. Both had multiple gunshot wounds.
Raymond Campbell was pronounced dead later at WellStar Kennestone Hospital.
The victims' 32-year-old son-in-law, Ben Thomas Abbott of Ellijay, was charged with two counts of murder.
The Sheriff's Office did not release the motive or any further information. The GBI is assisting on the case.
