Snellville officials recently welcomed a new finance officer-controller to the staff at city hall. ChaRita Echols comes to the city with more than 20 years of accounting experience and will handle all of the city’s accounting-related duties.

“I love the beautification and commercial growth that has been going on in Snellville in the last few years,” Echols said. “These upgrades have made Snellville a better place to live and work.”

Originally from the Chicago area, Echols has lived in Lawrenceville for 15 years and has one son, DeVontre’ Echols, who attends Kennesaw State University.

Echols takes the place of Jan Burke who left the office after 10 years to spend more time with her family.
