Snellville city council member Barbara Bender has announced that she will run for mayor.
Bender, the city’s Mayor Pro Tem, has served on the council since 2005. In an announcement released Tuesday night, Bender said that she has already raised more than $4,000 for the mayoral campaign.
Mayor Jerry Oberholtzer is currently serving his second term and is not eligible for re-election because of term limits.
