Smyrna’s renovated and newest event facility, the Reed House, 3080 Atlanta Road, will be available for rentals in February.

The Smyrna City Council voted unanimously Dec. 18 to add rental fees for the Reed House:

  • First floor only: $600 (four-hour minimum) and $75 per hour for each additional hour.
  • Entire house: $1000 (four-hour minimum), $1500 (eight-hour minimum) and $1800 (12-hour minimum).
  • Damage deposit on all events: $250 (to be refunded if no damage to the facility).

All rentals will include set-up and clean-up times and the use of parking and lawns.

The Council purchased the 1910 house for $1.8 million and spent $1.5 million on renovations and to make the house accessible to the disabled.

Of the $1.5 million, $300,000 came from the federal Community Development Block Grant for the American Disabilities Act improvements to the house of 4,900 square feet on 3.55 acres.

The Council also awarded a contract this year for almost $246,845 to Tucker Grading and Hauling for the parking area.
