Smoltz estate up for sale

Jan 14, 2012

It looks big enough to house a major league baseball team, but made for a royal family. And it could be yours for $7.2 million.

The north Fulton County mansion of longtime Atlanta Braves pitcher John Smoltz is now for sale. The word mansion doesn't really describe what's included in the price tag.

With 10 bedrooms and 14 bathrooms, the massive home looks like a masterpiece in pictures. The three-level home, totaling more than 18,000 square feet, has a gym, movie theater and plenty of room for guests.

With 22 acres of amenities, the future buyer may never want to leave.

The property includes a basketball court, tennis court, separate football and baseball fields, an 18-hole golf course, a stocked fishing pond and a jogging trail, according to the online listing.

The realtor has created a website, showing dozens of pictures of the estate.

Smoltz, who now works as a broadcaster, retired in 2009 from the St. Louis Cardinals, but played for the Braves for 20 years.
