The National Weather Service has issued a dense smoke advisory for a couple of counties in southeast Georgia where smoke from a wild fire was expected to reduce visibility Saturday night.
The advisory is in effect from 6 p.m. Saturday through 11 a.m. Sunday for Echols and Clinch counties east of Valdosta, as well as for adjacent Columbia and Hamilton counties in Florida.
The Weather Service office in Jacksonville said smoke from a Florida wild fire could cut visibility in the area to less than a quarter-mile, making driving hazardous Saturday night and Sunday morning.
