Two sisters died in a crash after their car left the road and hit a tree in Fayette County, officials said.

Tonieadra S. Boyce, 23, and Tierra Boyce, 17, both of Riverdale, died in the incident Tuesday along Banks Road near Fayetteville, sheriff’s office spokesman Allen Stevens said.

Tonieadra Boyce was driving east on Banks Road near Vaughn Drive about 8:20 a.m. when she apparently lost control and overcorrected, according to Stevens.

The car went into the westbound lane before it hit the tree, officials said.

The women died at the scene, according to Babb.

An investigation is ongoing.
