Shots fly in Duluth neighborhood; man arrested in domestic dispute
A man who fired shots at a Duluth home in an "aggravated domestic dispute" was arrested by Gwinnett County police Saturday night, but only after they chased him back to his home and shot at him, police said.
No one was hurt in the incident, which began at 7:30 p.m. in the the 2600 block of Old Peachtree Road.
When officers arrived, they learned Gary Jarrell, 51, had fired several shots at the house, police said. They confronted him and he ran down a gravel driveway toward his house at least half a mile away, police said.
"Officers were able to confront the suspect again in front of his residence, during which time the suspect made furtive and threatening movements, causing the officers to open fire on the suspect," the police press release states. Jarrell was not hit, and he was quickly arrested.
Jarrell was charged with aggravated assault and obstruction of a law enforcement officer.
