No one was injured when part of the roof collapsed Tuesday at Hawthorne Elementary School in DeKalb County.

Heavy rains from Monday pooled on the roof, part of which was already under construction, a spokesperson for the school district said. The water-soaked roofing fell into a hallway, but did not injure anyone.

The students were taken to the school's cafeteria and gym while the debris was cleaned.

The school is located on Caladium Drive near the intersection with Foster Ridge Road.
